Reason #144 why Fantasy Sports are Great

#144 - Insulation from Steroid Madness.

Unlike most baseball fans that are wringing their hands over the steroid controversy, I am heading toward Opening Day with a smile on my face and a song in my heart. Okay, that might be cheesy, but there's some truth to it. I've been doing fantasy drafts, combing through spring training box scores, updating depth charts ... all in an effort to control the fantasy baseball universe. I could care less about congressional hearings or tainted records. Just give me fantasy showdowns during the regular season and drama during the playoffs. Until that formula is disturbed, I'm good.

Dear WIS insider,

I am really having trouble with my baseball fantasy draft.

Do you think that it would be a wise strategy to draft only people that are under investigation or subpeoned by the government committee looking into steroids? Or do you think I should stay away from anyone who needs a shot of PB blaster to take their batting helmet off?

That's pretty funny. Considering that Rafael Palmeiro is the former group, I wouldn't suggest taking all subpeoned players. I didn't realize that Viagara was a steroid ...

Hey, Viagra does help you keep a stiff bat.
